- Two Royal Navy sailors from HMS Phoenicia, Manoel Island, Malta died Sunday 19 May 1957 in a sailing accident 2 miles from Valetta Harbour. The circumstances into the accident are not known and their bodies were never found. There is not record of what type of sailing vessel they were on, or were they the only ones on the vessel.
