Three unknown Merchant Navy seamen who died at sea off when their ship S.S.Troutpool Registered at West Hartlepool was sunk 20th July 1940 when it hit a mine and sank of Bangor Pier Light County Down Northern Ireland. The vessel was on route from Rosario to Glasgow with a cargo of 7.908 tons of grain. The Vessel has been dispersed by explosives as she was a hazard to shipping.
Their bodies were recovered dates and location not known, they were laid to rest on individual dates. 1 August 1940, 24 August 1940 and 26 August 1940. in Movilla Cemetery Newtownards County Down Northern.
The following nine names are the crew who are commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial. The above three unknown seamen will be one of them.
There are two crew members at rest in Bangor Cemetery County Down. Shief Ahmed aged 40 and Thomas Smith Beckett aged 32 from Glasgow. The ship had a crew of eleven (11).

Alexander CONNELL (19), Mess Room Boy. Born 1921 to Mary Connell of 356 Argyle Street, Glasgow. Native of Scotland.
Salch Ahmed DEMARI (41), Fireman and Trimmer. Born 1899. Next of Kin, friend, Margaret Anderson of 291 Hope Street, Glasgow.
Donald Andrew MacDOUGALL (17), Ordinary Seaman. Born 1923 to Donald and Theresa MacDougall, of 18 Glen Castlebay, Isle of Barra.
John McGRATH (53), Able Seaman. Born 1887 at Portaferry County Down Ireland to Hugh and Margaret McGrath of 291 Paisley Road, Glasgow.
Donald McNEIL (41), Able Seaman. Born 1889 to Neil McNeill, and of Catherine McNeill, of Main Street Port Charlotte, Isle of Islay.
William George MURRAY. (25), Ordinary Seaman. Born 1915 to William and Anne Murray of 28 Drummuir Street, Hopeman, Morayshire
