28th Battalion of 2NZ Div in Italy in 1945.
These were used during the crossing of the Senio river. They were a "war weary" Sherman with its turret removed and a sloped framework and release gear fitted to carry two or three fascine. Conversions were carried out on Sherman II (M4A1) and Sherman V (M4A4).
