My father, Major James Wood, served with the Staffords and Arthur was his Batman. My mother recently told me of this tragic accident when I was showing her a picture of our family fishing at Lake Naivasha. (I recently scanned hundreds of slides of our posting in Kenya and Aden many I had never seen.) We were posted to Kenya and my mother said Arthur was a very nice young lad and she was very shocked and saddened when he died.
