Battle of Normandy
Northwest entrance of La Haye-du-Puits, July 4, 1944. On the road to Barneville (see the N 803 sign), infantry of the 79th Inf. Div. US are returning from the village of La Haye-du-Puits and retreat further north. The infantryman carries a Garand rifle and an 81mm mortar tube.
