Hi there,

I am trying to contact Mr. Tom Cooper to ask a question of him. Do you by any chance know how I might be able to contact him? I have tried contact via his LinkedIn page but I have had no response. The page is not very active so I suspect he may not have seen it.

If you know how I can contact him would you be able to pass on that information please.

Kind regards

Mr. G.

Hi.

I am finalising a book on Turkey and WW2 that will be published next year. You have posted some interesting historical pictures. I was planning to return to Istanbul to visit what remains of the Çatalca fortifications but the pandemic stopped that. If you have either out of copyright or you own the copyright pictures I would be interested. My email is balkandave@gmail.com if you can help. Thanks.

Thanks. Yes, I follow him on Twitter, he posts a lot of excellent stuff around WW2. I think the height of the terrain is a bit exaggerated in the bottom picture, but it gets the idea over. I was quite struck by the high ground the Bulgarians fell back to after the Turkish Offensive in the 2nd Battle of Catalca. If anything a stronger position than the Catalca Lines.
Thank you for all the likes - whatever happened :)

@krocab if you are going to post links to your profile on other forums, make sure they are viewable by non registered members on that site, otherwise there really is no point at all

Hi and thank you for your message. Sorry I cannot help with any details re your great grandfather. We simply photograph graves of ex servicemen and women in order that they may be remembered. Occasionally, when time allows, we follow up with research and all that we found is listed along with the two photographs on this site . Good luck with your research.

Will do, stranded in SA at the moment, 6 weeks now, did a 9 week stretch at the start of the lockdown. Have already done 195 days in SA this year, normally only do 190 - to a couple of hundred each year. Got at least a couple of months to go I reckon. Won't be the last time either.
