To my heart and yours
It was true what we felt when we first met you.
No nervous feelings, felt like you where an old friend....some war right.
What happened, oh yes I remember!
Its called Iraq, another victory for her, the death of a heart!
No fan fare, no gun salute.....
Just kicked and taken.....knowing all but seeing nothing....
Home has changed for me...eyes wide open.
I want to scream...you all suck! I fought for you...don`t you care?....I dare not dream....Pain I can only understand...you had to be by my side for this...I left...
I wait....I wish to go back...patrolling....looking...waiting...Something strange....Waiting for death...If it happens so what.....I felt I believed.....Feeling something is back home....Back to the start...All this you ask?
But my question is......Do you Fucken understand......I feel the empty, that last round, bolt open...She is on burst.

Honest and insightful words.
When I came home, no parades or acknowledgment, mostly either indifference or outright distain for the war and those who fought it.
It was like everyone but the military had blinders on.
Tunnel vision. They only saw what they wanted to see.
I was invisible.
You learn to suffer in silence and keep to yourself what others choose not to see.
That was the start of my journey.
Hopefully you can reach out and get assistance and understanding from the public.
Maybe my generation can make it easier for yours.
Like I've always said... Hate the war, not the warrior.
