Police is stating "no foul play", though they are in the preliminary stages of the investigation.

Could be a suicide pact, yes.

But if it was a suicide pact, why involve the dog?

It does sound like taking it a step too far, but... isn't a suicide pact already a "step too far"?

Though there are hypothesis about carbon monoxide poisoning.

If that's the case, at least it was painless and without the whole anxiety induced by the act of committing suicide, so there is that.

Michelle Trachtenberg has died too today, aged just 39. She suffered from liver failure, but from what co-stars have posted it sounds like suicide.

RIP to all of them.

My guess is the one dog starved to death, having no access to food. Two other dogs were roaming the house and property, presumably with some kind of access to food.

I'd venture to guess Gene fell, died. Wife took pills to kill herself. And then days later they're found.

I'm confused here, the timing......did one know the other was down? Was it just luck that these illnesses took them both within a short moment of time of each other? I'm not understanding this both of those are long term illnesses. All I can think is that she was laid up sick and didn't know he went down and then she got worse and went down herself??? No cell phone calls looking for each other, or calls to the police, no calls to doctors ofc or EMS for help??? !!! I'm confused........🤨😬

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Wife who was the caretaker died of hantavirus, husband was suffering from severe dementia and likely died from dehydration/heat stroke or lack of medication. He wouldn't have known what was happening or what to do about it.

That's the problem with living a secluded life and relying on a single person to provide care.

Ok, I see what you mean mate, from that perspective is see the doom...... I haven't heard how bad off he was with it. Poor guy, poor wife..... Sad as hell, why not have some help guys............ Damn!!! The good one's are leaving us and the new one's replacing them are not nearly as good!!! 😔 😣 🥺😢

Authorities unraveled the mysterious circumstances and revealed that Arakawa likely died Feb. 11 at home from hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, a rare but potentially fatal disease spread by infected rodent droppings.

Hackman’s pacemaker last showed signs of activity a week later, indicating an abnormal heart rhythm Feb. 18, the day he likely died, Jarrell said.

Hantavirus is a big deal in N. Mexico - hundreds of natives died from the effects before the root cause was discovered. They typically live in very basic dwellings with a dirt floor, but that wouldn't keep mice from invading nice homes if having plenty of mouse traps had been neglected.
