New armament of the Portuguese Land Forces
- New firing armament was ordered on February 21, 2019 as part of a program to modernize the equipment of the soldier "Sistemas de Combate do Soldado" (SCS). The first batch of weapons is expected to hit the hands of soldiers in December 2019, and all deliveries are to be completed by 2022.
Portuguese Land Forces ordered 11,000 5.56-mm SCAR-L STD automatic rifles, 1.7k 40-mm FN40GL Mk 2 grenade launchers, 300 7.62-mm SCAR-H STD automatic rifles, 450 7.62-mm SCAR-H PR sniper rifles, 850 5.56-mm Minimi 5.56 Mk3 and 320 7.62 mm Minimi 7.62 Mk 3 machine guns.
In addition to weapons, FN Herstal will provide training, replacement parts kits, tools and a large number of Aimpoint CompM4 collimator sights and Trijicon ACOG and VCOG optical sights.
The new weapon will replace the currently used shooting constructions - 5.56-mm IMI Galil AR / ARM and SIG Sauer SG543 rifles, 7.62-mm H&K G3 rifles, 40-mm H&K HK79 and M79 single-shot grenade launchers and machine guns: 7.62-mm H&K HK21, Rheinmetall MG3 and MG42-59.

The Republican National Guard (Guarda Nacional Republicana - GNR), SOF unit (Grupo de Intervenção de Operações Especiais - GIOE). Just got equipped with new equipment, like new helmets, and new Grey uniforms dropping the black ones, and new HK weapons.

after the new camo,combat vest, helmet, boots,backpacks,combat belt, FN Scar and FN minimi, Port Armed forces reveived the new Glock 17gen5, and new Vamtac st5.
