The projectile went through the strongest part of the ballistic plate (let's assume for a moment that's what they actually had and not roof tiles or cardboard) seemingly mostly intact. Started to tumble, but not breaking up too much.

Also odd to see the Aimpoint mounted that far back. With Nods that wouldn't fly.

This offensive is the second bit of great news this month, after Trump's election.
Strategically, IMO, the big loser is Iran, the big winner is Israel( I understand better why the Hezzies wanted a ceasefire while Tsahal is still kicking the s..t out of the Hamas in Gaza:p) : it was a huge mistake to let the Hezzies go away and fight Tsahal. Big losses, and the Aleppo defense lines were empty. Now, if this happens, we have a good chance of seeing Assad fall from power, causing a major weakening and loss of prestige for the mullahs. And for us in the West, an improvement of our relations with the moderate Arab nations in the Middle East, perhaps securing again the sea lanes in the Red Sea... ;)
Anyways, it looks like Aleppo is quasi a done thing. Assad's statue being toppled in the town :

Opposition forces are reported pushing towards Hama, with the government leadership reported to have left the city.
Reports of suicide bombers having been neutralized.
HTS & cie filming themselves executing POWs left and right.

Yeah... not that sure about the "good thing" part.

It isn't over unless the sand pit says it is.

The question becomes, who is worse? Assad or ISIS?

If you get taken by ISIS you will end up staring in a snuff video, getting executed in some weirdly creative ways.

If you get taken by Assad you likely end up being tortured to death.

Russia has military aid to send? They can barely cover their own needs in Ukraine. However, things could change if peace happens in Ukraine.
Now I'm wondering if war in Syria could become war between Russia and Turkey... which would be very bad for Putler.

I think Trump 45 made it clear to Erdo that if you have some domestic issues which require you to get involved with Syria, that's one thing. But don't declare an Article V if things get hot with Russia. Basically, if you break it, you bought it. Turkey should be strong enough to suppress the aftermath. But let's face facts, if ISIS goes back to an orgy of murder, rape, slavery, torture - they will all need to be killed again. I just feel bad for their victims.

Al-Qaeda -> Al-Nusra -> HTS

You can rename a rabid dog as many times as you want, but it won't change the nature of the beast.

I'm not so sure that it will be so good for the world if the infamous Assad regime is overthrown by a reincarnation of ISIS with a Turkish tailwind. Then again, if I were Armenian I certainly wouldn't sleep easy. And I don't think for a state-like, therefore moderated enemy, the Israelis want a Hamas 2.0 up their ass in the Golan. I think a significantly weakened Assad regime, cut off from its patrons, would be better tolerated by everyone in the region than an Islamist terror zone.

If only leaders around the world realized how dangerous Erdogan is.

But somehow Europe is still trying to appease the snake, and with Ursulla "Azerbaijan is a beacon of Democracy and a trusted ally of European values" von der Leyen... yeah.

We are neck deep in a shark tank.

It looks very much like there is fighting in Damascus. The Republican Guard is reportedly carrying out a coup against the Assad regime!

Coup underway?
