Cruzeiro do Sul Exercise (CRUZEX) 2024 / Participating in the 2024 Exercise are Brazil, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Italy, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Uruguay, and the United States.

Cruzeiro do Sul Exercise (CRUZEX) is a multinational and operational exercise organized by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) since 2002, aimed at joint training in conflict scenarios and promoting the exchange of experiences among participating countries.

The 2024 edition, scheduled to take place from November 3rd to 15th at the Natal Air Base, will bring together 16 countries, more than 3.000 military personnel, and around 100 aircraft, both Brazilian and foreign.

It is the largest multinational war training in Latin America, led by the Brazilian Air Force, with the participation of the Brazilian Army and Navy. Over 1,500 flight hours are planned, with various types of missions, including ground attack, air superiority, escorting, and in-flight refueling.

In this edition, the Brazilian Air Force has introduced two new elements into its operations: the cyber and space domains. The former will feature simulated exercises that expand training by integrating cyber and air operations, testing the security of critical systems that support aerospace activities. The latter will include realistic simulations of space-related events that directly influence decision-making and, consequently, the course of a conflict.

This year, 16 countries are participating, with Brazil showcasing F-39 Gripen, F-5EM, A-1, A-29B fighters, C-105/SC-105 Amazonas transport aircraft, KC-390 Millennium, E-99M, and H-36 Caracal helicopter from FAB, as well as the A4 from the Brazilian Navy (MB); Argentina with IA-63 Pampa and KC-130H; Chile with KC-135 and F-16; Colombia with KC-767; the United States with F-15 and KC-46 (767); Paraguay with AT-27 and C-212; Peru with KT-1P and KC-130; and Portugal with KC-390.
