Women of Eger byThe siege of Eger Castle in 1552 is one of the most famous events in Hungarian history. This fame is due as much to Géza Gárdonyi's novel as to Bertalan Székely's painting. The stories of these brave Destroyer Captains and crews are captivating. The commanders risked running aground in order to give the troops trapped on the beach, accurate 5", 40 mm and 20 mm fire support.
