Hi! I’m Stefani. I’m an Air Force brat, born to the sound of Convair B-36 bombers, in the base hospital at Ramey Air Force Base, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. RAFB was decommissioned many years ago and currently serves the local communities as a municipal airport,
My father was a Technical Sergeant radio operator on the massive bombers, and a proud member of the Strategic Air Command. My older sister was a SAC Warrior, too, having served four years as a surgery tech at Fairchild AFB, Spokane, Washington. I was privileged to be the family’s last SAC Warrior from 1979 to 1996, stationed in Phoenix, Arizona, where I retired with 22 years of service.
I began my service in the Navy, from 1971 to 1977, as a Radioman. In 1979 I enlisted in the Army National Guard as an MP, then laterally transferred to an active duty billet with the 161st Air Refueling Group (now Wing) in Security Police (now Security Forces). In 1987 I cross-trained into combat photography, finishing up my career as a Master Sergeant and NCOIC of the unit Photo Section.
I hope to post some photos for this group and look forward to friendly exchanges with other members in the future. Thanks for letting me enlist, Bombardier!
