I am a retired civil engineer, Caltrans design. From 1972-1975 I served in the US Army Infantry as a training officer at Fort Polk, LA. I taught infantry heavy weapons, recoilless rifles, 81 mm and 4.2 in. Mortars, and commanded a Reception Station Company.
I have spent parts of the past 10 years learning about my dad's WW2 experiences in the 419th Medical Collecting Company (Sep). He left letters and photos (500+-), which I have digitized. Some of them I have edited.
I'll share from time to time, and will welcome any information or guidance I can get.
