I have been looking at a copy of a photo from WWI showing Ltn. Werner Voss on Jasta 10 - Fokker V.4 werke nr. 1730 - F.I 103/17. It indicates that the aircraft had been fitted with a captured 110 h.p. Le Rhone rotary motor and flown between 28 Aug. and 23 Sep. 1917.

Was this common practice to try the enemy's engines in aircraft? Did they do this in WWII also?

The aircraft appears to me to be a Fokker DR1 Triplane. Did they give it a different model number because of the change of engine?

Would anyone know the differences in aircraft performance between the Le Rhone and it's original engine (possibly the Oberursel Ur.II 9-cylinder Rotary - 110 hp (82 kW) )?
