Brazil Commissions Its First Scorpène Type Submarine: Launched in December 2018, the Riachuelo - Scorpène class conventional attack submarines (SSK) - successfully completed her sea trials and has now been delivered and entered into service within the Brazilian Navy. Compared to previous Scorpene class submarines, the S-BR features a stretched hull section to provide more submerged endurance. Extremely stealthy and fast, it has a level of operating automation that allows a limited number of crew, which reduces its operating costs significantly. Its combat edge is highlighted by the fact that it has 6 weapon launching tubes, 18 weapons (torpedoes, missiles).

Equipped with Rafael Litening III laser designator pods, the AMXs used conventional BAFG-230 bombs (248kg) mounted on Rafael Lizard II laser guidance kits. Combined with the ability to penetrate at low altitude in enemy territory with great range and survivability in a hostile environment, the AMX-M (A-1M) represents an important strategic and deterrent vector for Brazil.

Can the AMX carry more than 4 bombs? Do they use triple or at least multiple ejectors on those??

The Brazilian variants have 2 x 30mm cannon plus 2 wingtip AAM points plus 5 hardpoints for stores with a max loadout of 3,800 kg. They are able to use multiple ejectors but I've never seen them with that loadout mate (Y)

UNITAS LXIII (63) - The world’s longest-running multinational maritime exercise

UNITAS, which is Latin for “unity,” was conceived in 1959, first executed in 1960 and held every year since. This year marked the 63rd iteration of the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise.

This year's exercise was hosted by the Brazilian navy and included 19 warships/vessels, one submarine, and 21 aircraft that conducted scenario-driven joint and combined operations and training in and off the coast of Rio De Janeiro. The exercise coincided with Brazil’s bicentennial, a historical milestone commemorating 200 years of the country’s independence and the birth of their navy. Navy and marine forces from Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Namibia, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and the United States participated in the exercise.
