Americans soldiers have arrived in Brazil to participate in the largest deployment of a U.S. Army unit to train alongside Brazilian Army in Brazil. Southern Vanguard 22 is a bilateral training exercise, which is the culmination of numerous engagements between U.S. Army South and the Brazilian Army to promote efforts to develop professional partnerships and increase mutual readiness. More than 1,000 Soldiers from U.S. Army South, the 101st Airborne Division, and the Brazilian 12th Infantry Brigade are participating in the two-week exercise.

Brazilian Army - Troop aeromobiles

(US Army) 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division - Air Assault furthered their partnership with the Brazilian Army during Southern Vanguard 22 by conducting a joint weapons training exercise. Each army took turns firing the other nation’s weapons system in order to build cohesion as well as proficiency on a foreign weapon system.
