Today marks 80 years since the outbreak of World War II. On September 3rd, British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain made his famous speech declaring War on Germany.

Today, a number of foreign leaders and other political figures came to Poland to pay their respect and commemorate the beginning of World War 2.

World leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and US Vice President Mike Pence, joined Polish President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Warsaw to remember the invasion of Poland by Nazi German troops.

On the first of September, 1939, Germany invaded Poland: The date is regarded as the beginning of the Second World War. Nearly 6 million Polish citizens were killed, including some 3 million Polish Jews.
