I was drag racing at this strip in 67 along with a few others from our base. It hasn't changed much except at the far end of the strip all those trees were not there. The spectator docks were just as you see them today but no yellow paint it was just old white faded paint. I'm surprised to see it still exist but I like that, just about everything I knew in that year is long gone. Also raced at the Kennedale strip southwest of Fort Worth, it is closed and now developed for you know what, homes and condos. That was a heavy hitter in 1967 with all the major cars and drivers. I set the track record for a street stock 67 Mustang 6 cylinder with 3/spd. It was a good little car and a high compression 6 cylinder that had a 2nd gear with no end.
