In recent weeks, British naval and air units have been training together with the Norwegian Navy to be able to maintain preparedness in our immediate areas. With a focus on littoral operations and integrated training, exercise Tamber Shield demonstrated a significant degree of interaction between the two nations.Norway participated with the frigate KNM Roald Amundsen, the corvettes KNM Gnist, KNM Storm and KNM Glimt. The UK participated with four P2000 patrol boats and four Wildcat helicopters, all of which were stationed at Haakonsvern during the exercise.Following the exercise, both the Norwegian Navy and the British Royal Navy are now left with valuable experience of each other's capacities and capabilities.
The multinational task force composed of Maavoimat - Armén - The Finnish Army, Norwegian Hæren and U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division troops has prepared for the upcoming Northern Forest 24 exercise during Combat Enhancement Training/Force Integration Training -phase in Sodankylä. The CET/FIT has already proven beneficial, as the northern conditions have shifted from snow to floods and drought.

The KNM frigate Otto Sverdrup is taking part in naval exercises in the Bergen area together with submarines and British helicopters. The aim of the exercises is to practice submarine hunting and torpedo shooting.
