ESME ELLEN FOWLER. Wren 9829, WRNS on H.M.S. Europa.
Born 08 June 1920 at Marlborough, Wiltshire to Samuel and Sarah Fowler, of Oulton Broad, Lowestoft.
1939 residing with her parents at 68 High Street, Lowestoft, Suffolk, occupation, shorthand typist.
Died of cerebro spinal fever in Lowestoft Isolation Hospital 18 February 1940 age 19 years old. At rest in St Margaret Churchyard, Lowestoft, Suffolk.

MAY (k/a Maisie) BEAUMONT CARTER, nee Munden. Wren Telegraphist.
Birth registered as May in September Quarter 1895 to George and Hester Munden, 09 Moorgate Cottage Leicester. 1901 with her married mother and three siblings at 11 All Saints Open, Leicester.
1911 with her married mother at 05 Court A, Grey Street, Leicester. Three siblings have died
She was married as Maisie 09 April 1917 to George Ernest Carter at Fletton, Huntingdonshire.
Died 23 January 1940 aged 43 at Kings College for Women, Campden Hill, Kensington from, syncope acute myocardial degeneration and chronic bronchitis.

Born 31 October 1919 to Fred and Bessie Kathren Finbow, nee Battershill of Ipswich.
Died 05 June 1940 at Brook House Nursing Home, Ipswich age 21 years old of cardiac failure from acute mania.
At rest in Ipswich New Cemetery, Suffolk.

ORMA CONSTANCE FORSYTH DUNN. Nee Dripps. Leading Wren C/3997 WRNS at Naval Shore Base H.M.S I. Pembroke, Chatham.
Born 13 April 1913 to John and Martha Jane Dripps, of Grafton, Auckland, New Zealand. Wife of Regulating Petty Officer William Leonard Dunn, R.N., of Gillingham.
1939 residing at 09 Gillingham Road, Gillingham, Kent, doing unpaid domestic duties
Died 27 August 1940 age 27 years at the Liberal Club, Canterbury Street, Gillingham, Kent age 26 years old. At rest in Woodlands Cemetery, Gillingham, Kent

KATHLEEN ACKERLEY. Chief Officer, WRNS on HMS Eaglet, Liverpool.
Born 1894 to Harold Ackerley and of Eleanor Ackerley (nee Mills), of Birkenhead, Cheshire.
Died of a fractured skull from the result of motor car collision whilst on duty one mile from Silloth Cumberland 31 August 1940 age 46 years old. She was in a car with another Wren, Miss Mary Anthony travelling towards Silloth. A car containing RAF men were emerging from a side road when the vehicles collided, Miss Anthony received slight injuries.
At rest in Flaybrick Hill Cemetery, Birkenhead, Cheshire.

SARAH NICOLETTE I. BRETT. Probationary Wren, on H.M.S. Kestrel.
06 June 1921 at Flushing, Cornwall, mother’s maiden name Travers. Died in the registration district of Kensington, London, 26 September 1940 aged 19 years old. Commemorated on a special memorial in Gunnersbury Cemetery, Middlesex.

On 23rd November 1940, German airplanes attacked the South Coast. 24 Wrens had gathered for dinner in the dining room of Mansfield Hostel, Lee on Solent (HMS Daedalus) when an anti-aircraft shell hit the dining room directly and exploded.

Born 26 February 1898 to Henry Thomas and Sarah Annie Barnes, nee Ausley 1901 residing with her mother and siblings at the home of her aunt, Sarah Ausley at Blasketts ? Tong, Kent. 1911 with her parents and sibling at Blacketts Cottage, Tonge Kent.
1917 she married William Thomas Desborough. 1939 with her husband at 74 Symons Avenue, Chatham, Kent.
She died 24 December 1940 age 42 years old from (1) Anterior colporrhaphy. (2) melancholia at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Rocester, Kent.
At the time of her death her husband was residing at of Gillingham
At rest in Maidstone Road Cemetery, Chatham, Kent.
