William SHERWIN. Gunner 2699, 2/2nd North Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery
Born 1898 to John and Amelia. 1901 Boarding with his parents and siblings at the home of Thomas Forrester at 19 High Street, Bucknall. 1911 with his parents and siblings at 121 High Street Bucknall.
He joined 2/2nd North Midland Brigade, Royal Field Artillery at Hanley 24 April 1915 and gave his age as 19 years and 8 months as Gunner 2699. 3 September 1915 he was discharged at Markyate, Hertfordshire, for enlisting underage, to his home. He was only 16 years and 11 months. No medal card or other army record was found for him.
Died of accidental injuries 12 July 1917 aged 19.
At rest in St Mary Churchyard Bucknall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
