Born 1907 to Peter and Jane Bates, of Bucknall, Stoke-on-Trent. Husband of Edith Elizabeth Bates, of Birches Head, Stoke-on-Trent.

Died 15 May 1943 aged 36.

At rest in St Mary Churchyard Bucknall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
