EDMONDS, William Barnewall. Private CH/483(S) 1st Royal Marine Light Infantry, enlisted on the 2nd November 1914. He died of wounds in 11th Casualty Clearing Station (compound fracture right leg, wounds to left leg, right arm & Face) France 13th November 1917 aged 24. He was born on the 1st October 1889 at Dublin to William and Kate Agnes of 214 Roden Street, Belfast and brother of George and Edwin who also fell in the war. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Dundonald Cemetery, County Down, Northern Ireland and he is at rest in Varennes Military Cemetery, Somme, France
