LLOYD, Thomas, Esqr, who died at Kingthorp House, April 7th 1828 in the 78th year of his age, lies interred near the foot of this memorial.
He was the youngest son of George Lloyd of Barrowby Hall, near Leeds, Esqr, by Susanna, daughter of Thomas Horton of Chadderton near Middleton, in the county of Lancaster Esqr. From the year 1794 to 1807 he was a Lieut Col Commandant of the Leeds Volunteer Infantry: During which eventful period he served his King with great credit to himself and advantage to his country. His conduct in all the relations of public and private life, was kind, generous, and affectionate. he was beloved and respected by all who knew him, and died deeply lamented, especially by his widow and sons who erected this monument as a testimony of their attachment to him. He was the husband of Ann nee Allenson who lies buried next to her husband.
