Susannah BLYTHE nee Boyle. Widow of Captain Alan Lancelot Blythe Royal Artillery. Born 15 October 1883 at Blackburn to Mary Ann nee Haworth and Robert Boyle.

Died in Malta 8 December 1972 aged 89 years.

1891 residing with her parents and siblings at Carr House, Blackburn, Lancashire. 1901 still with her parents and siblings at 283 Preston New Road, Blackburn.

She married Captain Alan Lancelot Blyth, Royal Field Artillery in 1906 at Blackburn, Lancashire.

In 1908 a son was born, William Hetherington Blythe. 1911, she was visiting the home the Helme family with her son William Hetherington Blythe aged 2 years at 20 The Grange Drive, Winchmore Hill, Southgate, Middlesex. Also, at this time she was accompanied by her husband Alan, occupation given as Merchant, East Indian Shipping. 28 March 1957 she embarked from Southampton for New York, accompanied by Nikolai Blythe and 6 May 1957 she disembarked at Southampton from New York with Nikolai Blythe, student, born 12 December 1939. Their forwarding address was 58 Hamilton Terrace, London N.W.8.


Nikolai Ovsievsky BLYTHE. Born 12 December 1939 at Lucerne, Switzerland, an actor and musician. Died in Malta 2 September 1977 aged 37 years. Grandson of Susannah Blythe. Dearly loved always R.I.P.
Nicholas Vladimir Sergei Ovsiewsky was the son of Sergei Leonidovich Ovsiewsky and Katherine Mary Margaret Blythe (known as Peggy). She was a film starlet with J Arthur Rank. She was born 1914 to Alan Lancelot and Susanna Blythe. His mother Katherine Mary Margaret Blythe died around 2004 in Malta, grave whereabouts unknown. His father Sergei L Ovsiewsky was born 1902 in Russia. His mother and father married in Paris 1938 and later divorced. His father died in London.

Both at rest in Ta’Braxia Cemetery, Malta.

He was born 5 June 1884 in Lancashire to Catherine Muir, nee Fernley and Frederick Charles Blythe.

Captain Alan Lancelot Blythe, of Whiteholme, Clayton-le-Dale, Blackburn died of pneumonia on the 27 November 1918 aged 34 at Piccadily Hotel, Middlesex. His effects went to Susannah Blythe, widow. £72883 9s. 1d.

CWGC -
Captain Alan Lancelot Blythe 1st East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Died 27 November 1918 aged 34 years. Son of Frederick Charles and Catherine Muir Blythe, of Church, Lancs, husband of Susie (Susannah) Blythe, of Whiteholme, Clayton-le-dale, Blackburn. He is at rest in St Leonards Churchyard, Balderstone, Lancashire.

It appears that these two people are one of the same.

Born 22 December 1908. Married Eileen Whitaker in 1930 and divorced 1946. Died 9 December 1999 West Somerset. He obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Artillery.
