His father, Simeon H Hardy was born in 1842 in Cork, Ireland and died 29 September 1912 at Norwood, Surrey. His mother Florence Helen nee Richardson was born 1848 at Madras, India and died 1899 in London.

HARDY-HANDS. 20 August 1873 at St Jame’s Church, Notting Hill, London by the Rev G Palmer M.A. Simeon Harrison Hardy, 74 Highlanders to Florence Helen Richardson, youngest daughter of the late Colonel Frederick Wright Hands, late of the 105th Light Infantry.
1873 his father was residing St Georges Yacht Club, Kingstown, Ireland. His mother for the same period, a spinster was residing at the New Parish of Saint James Norlands, Middlesex.
1881 his parents were residing at Gipsy Hill, Ryhope, Norwood, Surrey. His father was a Captain in the army.
1891 both parents residing at 4 Highland Road, Norwood, Surrey. Occupation, retired army captain.
