Private 18280,Samuel Charles CARRIER. 13th (Service) Battalion (Forest of Dean) (Pioneers)Gloucestershire Regiment, killed in action 30th June 1916 aged 20. Born in Berkeley Heath, Berkeley, Gloucestershire in 1896 to James and Mary Ann Carrier, of Upper Wick, near Dursley, Gloucestershire. He enlisted at Ham, near Berkeley, Glos. In 1901 he was living with his parents at Stock Lane, Berkeley, in 1911 living with his parents at Hickness Row, Berkeley. His mother was granted a war gratuity on the 30th January 1917, revised on the 2nd May 1917 and again on the 24th September 1919.
Commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.
