Ruth Louise ASHLEY. Lieutenant, Nursing Sister. 8th General Hospital, UK Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (RCAMC). Born 8 November 1915 at Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Daughter of Wyndham Winkler Ashley and Dora Mary Ashley, nee Clinkskill of 306 Saskatchewan Crescent West, Saskatoon, Canada. Enlisted 8 December 1941 at Regina, Saskatchewan.
Died at Canadian Neurological Hospital, Winslade, Basingstoke, England of a brain tumour 6 June 1943 aged 27.
As a war casualty from Saskatchewan, Lieutenant (Nursing Sister) Ruth Louise Ashley has been honoured by having Ashley Peninsula named after her. The location of Ashley Peninsula is 58.1167 degrees N / 103.55 degrees W.
