Richard Oliver Couper Glyn. Born in England on 27 February 1866, died at the age of 16 months on 17th June 1867

John Keane Carr Glyn, born in Malta on 5 April 1868, succumbed to diphtheria at Villa Portelli, Kalkara, Malta on 5 November 1869.

Sons of Colonel Richard Thomas GLYN. C.B., C.M.G. Born 23rd December 1831 in Meerut, India, only son of Jane Florentia, nee Creighton and Richard Carr Glyn. Officer in the Honourable East India Company. On the 18 November 1856 he married Anne Penelope Clements at Saint James, Westminster, London.

He was Colonel of the 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot which he commanded from February 1867 to May 1880. Colonel of the South Wales Borderers from 29th May 1898 to 21st Nov 1900. Fought in the first Anglo Zulu War 11 January 1879 – 4 July 1879 on Isandlwana South Africa against the Zulu Kingdom with 1/24th Regiment of Foot, commanded No 3 Colum (Centre Column) with 4,700 people stationed next to a hill called Isandlwana. The 1/24 Regiment of Foot had been wiped out, save for a small number who were at Rorke’s Drift after the camp had been captured by the Zulus. The Isandlwana battlefield was strewn with the bodies of 1,350.
He also served in the Crimea and the Indian Mutiny in 1857. Post with the 24th Regiment of Foot to Malta in the 1860s and resided at Villa Portelli, Kalkara, Malta. 1861 he was residing with his wife and children along with his parents at their residence at 22 Brunswick Square, Hove, Sussex. 1881 he was visiting the home of the Brander family at Christchurch, Hampshire. He was Colonel, commander the 25th Brigade Depot. 1891 re was residing with his wife and children at Chequers Green, Stratfield Saye, Hampshire. He died 21 November 1900 at Basingstoke, Hampshire.
