The Hawk was a magnificent aircraft !!!
In case of war, it was planned to use it armed with AIM-9L in conjunction with the Tornado F.3.
The Tornado had the radar and long-range missiles, and the Hawk the maneuverability for dogfighting.
I think the Hawk would have done well in this job.
