Major, 53rd Shropshire Regiment who died at Malta 14th May 1884 afterwards of 28 years continous service, including the arduous campaign of the Indian Mutiny 1857-59 and the Egyptian campaign 1882 He was originally buried in Rinella Military Cemetery, Malta. This cemetery closed, his and others were transferred to Kalkara Naval Cemetery into a Mass Grave
This memorial is situated in the entrance to the centrall hall of St Chad's church Shrewsbury, Shropshire
