Born 1894 to John and Selina, nee Ball. 1901 residing with his widowed mother and siblings at Werrington, near Bucknall, Stoke on Trent. 1911 with his sister, Selina and the home of his mother and stepfather Ralph Rogers at 39 Austin Street, Hanley, Stoke on Trent, occupation coal miner waggoner in the pits.
Killed in action 15 September 1916 aged 22. His mother, now Mrs Selina Rogers, was granted a war gratuity 7 February 1917 revised 30 August 1919.
Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France
Commemorated on the headstone Ralph and Ellen Rogers of Warrington Road, Bucknall in St Mary Churchyard Bucknall, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
