John Frazer LEMON. Corporal 64420, 150th Field Coy, Royal Engineers. Born 17 April 1881 at Kilmore County Down to Hugh and Sarah LEMON, nee McCoubrie. 1911 residing with his widowed mother at 53 Cheviot Avenue, Belfast, Ireland. Occupation, cabinet maker. 25 February 1915 aged 33 and 10 months, enlisted at Old Town Hall, Belfast and same day posted to Antrim to start his training. 5 October 1915 posted to France. Died of shrapnel wounds to abdomen at 32nd Causality Clearing Station, Belgium 14 August 1917 aged 36. His mother was granted and war gratuity 23 October 1917, revised 20 October 1919.
Commemorated on his parents’ memorial in Plot C2. Grave 219, Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Northern Ireland.
At rest in Brandhoek New Military Cemetery, Belgium.
