- E. EA. A. 648. John CAIRNS. Private 1215 1st/7th Bn. Royal Scots. Born at Edinburgh, Scotland to Samuel and Margaret Cairns. Died of wounds 6 July 1915 from injuries received in action at Gallipoli. His father was granted a war gratuity 24 January 1916, revised 14 March 1916. His mother was granted a war gratuity 23 September 1919.
