Isaac MEER. Lance Corporal 185434, 414th Agricultural Coy, Labour Corps. Formerly 50824, 27th Durham Light Infantry. Born 1889 to George and Eliza Mary Meer. 1911 residing with his parents and siblings at 1 Belper Street, Ilkeston, occupation Hosiery machinist. At the time of his enlistment 22 February 1916 aged 25 years he was residing with his parents at 69, Stanton Road, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, occupation, plumber’s mate.
Prior to admittance to hospital he was on agricultural work in the East Riding at the time he developed influenza (influenza epidemic) which was complicated by pneumonia. He was admitted into St John V.A.D. Hospital (Central Hospital), Hull, Yorkshire 2nd November 1918 of influenza and pneumonia and died 4 November 1918 aged 29 years. His father was granted a war gratuity 5 May 1919 revised 2 December 1919.
