John Edward EYRE

Extended Description
John Edward EYRE. Private M2/102393, 338 Mechanical Transport (M.T.) Coy, Army Service Corps. Born 1887 at Ilkeston. Joined at Bulwell Hall, Nottingham 3 June 1915. His sister Catherine Cross Eyre was his next of kin. Posted to Salonica with 338 Coy 20 October 1915, invalided to England 31 August 1916. Discharged 26 December 1916 as being no longer physically fit for war service. He was suffering from tubercle of the lung. Died in the registration district of Basford, Derbyshire 11 October 1917 aged 30.

At rest in Park Cemetery, Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
