- HOLT, Hubert Granville. (Military Cross) Lieutenant Leicestershire Regiment attached to the Royal Flying Corps. He was killed in action over the enemy lines on the 6th October 1917 aged 23. He was the son of Thomas and Margaret of 446 Withington terrace, Cross Hillock, Astle, Manchester. Dulce Et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori
He is commemorated on a family memorial in Leigh Cemetery, Lancashire, and he is at rest in Mendinghem Military Cemetery, Belgium
