Private 28009 Thomas Henry HOLDEN, 8th Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, formerly 34461, Royal Lancaster Regiment, killed in action 4th August 1918 aged 24. He was the son of Robert and Sarah of 2, Station Cottages, Silverdale, Carnforth, Lancashire. He was a native of Silverdale, Lancashire He is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.

He joined up on the 11th December 1915 and posted to the Army Reserve as Private 34461, Royal Lancaster Regiment. He gave his address as 17, Penrith Street, Barrow, aged 23 years and 3 months and was employed as a railway platers helper. His father Robert, was his next of kin and he lived at 2, Station Cottages, Silverdale, Lancashire He was called to the colours on the 22nd February 1917. He embarked Folkstone on the 17th June 1917 and disembarked the next day, 18th at Boulogne. He was taken to 22 Infantry Base for posting to his regiment at Etaples on the same day. On the 2nd July 1917 he was transferred to the 8th, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment with a new army number 28009 allotted to him under Army Orders 204 of 1916. He joined his new regiment on the 3rd of July 1917 in the field. The 4th August 1917 he was killed in action in the field in France.
