This particular plaque is very well suited as today is the 110th Anniversary of the Anglo Boer War, it is a fitting tribute to those who gave their lives so long ago.
The Imperial Light Horse a Colonial Regiment also came into existence 110 years ago, and survives today as the Light Horse Regiment, whose motto is "Born 1899 still going strong".
The Regimental devices can be seen on this site under plaques etc.
