Frederick TROTMAN. Private 13604, 1st Grenadier Guards
Born 1887 at Harthill, Hewelsfield Gloucestershire to Lewis and Sarah Ann Trotman, nee Creswick. His father died in 1890. 1891 with his widowed mother at The Common, Hewelsfield.1901 visiting the home of Albert Creswick at 38 Pineview Cottages, Arnold Road, Woking Surrey. 1911 with his mother siblings and step father John Church at 4 Pool Cottage St Briavels, Monmouthshire. Occupation general labourer
Killed in action at Ypres France [as inscribed, correct country, Belgium]
23 October 1914 aged 27 years His mother was granted war gratuity 30 March 1916 revised 17 September 1919.
Commemorated on a family memorial in St Marys the Virgin Churchyard St Briavels, Gloucestershire, also on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
