Private 24205329 George Ellis HAMILTON, C Coy, 5th County Londonderry Battalion.
At rest in Cumber Cemetery, Claudy County Londonderry. The Armed Forces Memorial have cemetery location as Comber which is in County Down.

He was off duty when he was shot in the back of his head and mortally wounded by a PIRA sniper in a field as he worked as an electrician on a building site at a reservoir at Croppy Hill near Steeltown. on the 20th December 1972 aged 28.
He was rushed to Altnagelvin Hospital Co Londonderry where he died of his wound a short time later. He was married and resided at Kildoag, Claudy County Londonderry.
