number 82 (gammon)Developed by Capt. Arthur Gammon of the 1st Parachute Regiment in 1941, the Gammon bomb was intended for use against tanks, pillboxes, and bunkers. The bomb consisted of a cloth bag filled with plastic explosive attached to a metal cap. The metal cap included a screw-off top that was removed to arm the bomb before it was thrown.
