G113 WILLIAM VICTOR RICE. D.S.O., D.S.C., Commander Royal Navy on HMS Endeavour. Born 7th April 1887 at Edmonton, Middlesex, England to Sir William George and Letitia Helen Rice, nee Rolls. 1891 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Milton House, Trinity Road, Tottenham, Middlesex. 1911 onboard HMS Research as Lieutenant. Enlisted into the Royal Navy 15 January 1902. Sub-Lieutenant 1 January 1906, Lieutenant Commander 30 June 1917, Commander 31 December 1923. Awarded the DSO 1 January 1916, DSC 2 July 1917. In 1922 he married Barbara Debnam at Plymouth. Their only son Flight Lieutenant 153103, Pilot, William Terence. Spitfire test pilot died as a result of a flying accident in Calcutta 13 March 1946.

A newspaper cutting shows his death was reported that he had died in his bunk. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was Storm Crest, Crownhill, Plymouth. His effects went his widow and Roy Vernon Rice, stockbroker.
