Guardsman 21576, Fred TURVEY, 4th Grenadier Guards
Born 1894 at Clay Cross to Thomas and Susan Turvey, nee Pettit. 1901 aged 8 years, visiting the home of the Slater family at Dore’s Yard, Clay Cross. (Census has Towey) 1911 with his mother (now called Susan Brown) and his siblings at Hoffman’s Row, Danesmoor, Derbyshire. At the time of his death his mother was residing at Gladstone Cottages Broadleys, Clay Cross, Derbyshire
Died 18 January 1920 aged 26 years.
At rest in Clay Cross Cemetery, Derbyshire.
