- Private 2791, 1/5th North Staffordshire Regiment who fell in the service of his country, 2nd September 1915 at Hill 60, Belgium aged 20. Son of Herbert William & Sarah Helen of The Crescent, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire and brother of Lieutenant Herbert Percival who fought in France and died after a long and painful illness 5th November 1925 aged 24. Ernest was native of Hollington near Uttoxeter.
Commemorated on is parents' memorial at Uttoxeter Cemetery, Staffordshire and is buried at Railway Cutting Cemetery, Larch Wood, Ieper, Belgium
