Son of Thomas and Maria Alexander, of Drumbeg, Dunmurry, Co. Antrim. His brother Robert also fell same month and year and commemorated on the same memorial.
Killed in action 15 July 1916 aged 24. His father was granted a gratuity 12 February 1917.
