Born 3 November 1889 to David and Elizabeth Smyth nee Dickson of High Street, Comber, County Down, Ireland.
Irish 1901 census have Smith and mother named Isabella with his parents at 24 Bridge Street, Comber
Irish 1911(smith) with his parents and siblings, mother is named as Anna Bella all at 23 Bridge Street, Comber.
Killed in action at the battle of the Somme, France 1 July 1916.
His mother was granted a war gratuity 7 June 1918 revised 21 October 1919.
Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
