D639 WILLIAM ARTHUR EARWICKER. Telegraphist JX127484 Royal Navy on HMS Revenge. Born 1910 at Portsmouth, Hampshire to John Joseph and Ellen Louise Earwicker nee Stringer. 1911 residing with his parents and brother at 2 Sun Street, Portsea, Hampshire. Enlisted 21 July 1926 on HMS Ganges as Boy 2nd Class, civilian occupation, boy labourer. Died on board his ship 3rd January 1934 aged 23 years of heart failure following acute influenza pneumonia.

At rest in Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta Plot D Grave 639.

His father was Petty Officer Stoker 1st Class Royal Navy. Enlisted 8 September 1894 on HMS Victory II as Stoker 2nd Class 277813, civilian occupation, iron turner. He served in the Great War on various ships, HMS Columbine being his last one when he left the navy 1 July 1918.
