No 6 Commando of Brigadier Lord Lovats 1st Special Service shortly before arriving at Sword Beach, 6th June 1944
The man with the flame thrower was my grandpa Ken Seal, he writes about the photo that it was quite a relief to dump the thrower after his pill box/flack tower targets, as it was very bulky and highly dangerous. He also says the landing craft on their right was blown out of the water seconds after the photo was taken. The guys behind him are Hook and Scouie or Scouse
